My First Month With Adopto
After 8 years of living in the United States, few months back I finally made a decision to go back to my home country, Croatia.
This was not not an easy decision to make, but, as of right now, I haven’t regretted it for a second.
One of my favorite life mottos is:
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do!”
Thus, my biggest concern about coming back was that I would not be able to find a job that I enjoy doing every day.
Likely, I was completely wrong! :)
The job search was quite frustrating at the beginning. No interesting jobs, no feedback, poor communication or no communication at all, sometimes made me question my decision.
Couple of weeks later, very unexpectedly, I got a response to one of my open job applications.
It was Adopto!
I started doing a research on what Adopto does, and I simply loved it! Undoubtedly, talent acquisition has been and continues to be one of the biggest recruiting challenges. Seeing a huge potential to help many companies with Adopto’s features, and, with that, help Adopto grow, I decided to say YES to Adopto’s proposal for a position of Head of Marketing :)

There are many things I like about my new job, but here’s the list of my top 3 favorites:
The Team
We are not a big team, and, in my opinion, this is what makes it so special. I feel like I was able to, in only a couple of weeks, learn a lot about my co-workers. Knowing everyone’s personalities and characteristics really helps with building healthy relationships and enjoyable work environment.
My boss, also the CEO and one of the founders, is who I communicate most with. Even though he would probably hate that I called him “boss”, I have to say:
The Workplace and Work Environment
Our office is located in the coolest looking place! It is inspiring, modern, yet simple and relaxing. Brainstorming rooms, educational courses, conferences and meetups… perfect for someone who is looking to grow both personally and professionally.
About the work environment…I couldn’t ask for more! I came from a healthcare industry where there is so much structure, rules, policies and procedures. Flexibility, on the other side, is the best word to describe Adopto’s work environment. Ability to be innovative and produce best customer experience is what’s valued the most.
There is so much drive and enthusiasm to make the best product out there. Being a former athlete, I couldn’t ask for a better work environment.
The Product
It is hard to work as a marketer in a company in which product you don’t believe. Promoting, advertising or selling a product you would never buy or recommend, must be like a nightmare.
Witnessing the challenges HR industry has been facing with, and will continue to face with, I am convinced in Adopto’s ability to deliver a game changing solution and transformation for everyone who is struggling to find, attract and hire best talent out there.
